LG and T-Mobile USA has teamed up to bring a new Android tablet branded as T-Mobile G-Slate. Both companies announced the tablet to day at 2011 International CES. The G-Slate is a dual core Honeycomb-powered tablet. It would produced by LG Mobile and distrusted exclusively by T-Mobile. This is the the second partnership of LG with a mager career for tablet. LG partnered with NTT Docomo in bring the Optimus Pad in Japan.

Today at 2011 International CES, T-Mobile USA, Inc. and LG Mobile Phones announced the upcoming Android™ Honeycomb-powered T-Mobile® G-Slate™ with Google™, by LG. Expected to be available in coming months, the G-Slate will be the first 4G tablet from the two companies powered by Android 3.0 (Honeycomb), the upcoming version of Google’s Android platform optimized for tablets.

The T-Mobile G-Slate will be among the first 4G tablets to fully benefit from the tablet-optimized Android 3.0 platform, which was designed from the ground up for devices with larger screen sizes and addresses the unique aspects of tablet use cases and form factors. The Honeycomb user experience improves on Android favorites such as widgets, multi-tasking, browsing, notifications and customization. It will also feature the latest Google Mobile innovations including Google Maps™ 5.0 with 3D interaction, collection of more than 3 million eBooks and Google Talk™ with video and voice chat.

We have our update and a hands on tour. This is the first custom overlay on an Android Honeycomb tablet and adds some cool features and needed uniqueness from other honeycomb tablets in the market. On the home screen you still have the same 5 desktops but now you have the number indicator on the top to let you know which one you are on. They've made some changes to the navigation bar and notification area. The navigation bar adds a new screenshot icon to take a snapshot of anything that you have on-screen. There is also a new Mini Apps tray that include the new task manager, calendar, world clock, pen memo, calculator and music player. These apps will run on top of any of the applications you have open and move across the screen like a widget. So such as if you are doing some online banking and need a calculator it will show up on top and you can interact with both the browser and the calculator at the same time. The notification center got a facelift and now includes the power center that you see in Galaxy S phones when you swipe down on the top of the phone. This will allow you to turn on and on Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, Notifications, Flight mode, Sound and Auto rotation.
