INTERCEPT is more for somebody who's got time to tweek and play, likes games, eye candy, wants more options (even if it is at a performance cost) or may not have or want to pay the extra 10 a month. This is Virgin Mobile's first Android device. It's a 3" touch screen phone with a full QWERTY keyboard. It's running Android 2.1 and is $249.99 NO CONTRACT. $35-Month Virgin Mobile Samsung Intercept With Android 2.2 P I bought a $25 a month Virgin Mobile Samsung Intercept late last year with Google Android 2.1 on it, and it was terrible. Virgin has raised the price of this calling plan to $35 a month, but people on the $25 a month plan before the price raise will continue to pay $25 a month. Rooting lets you take full advantage of what your hardware is capable of. Such as overclocking and bypass the OS's limitations. Permissions are required for such apps to operate and need root access.... tether, keyboards, customs roms, and just because you can. Hotspot is at your own risk. please know you cell phone companies policies. Since Intercept is slow I recommend doing a hard reset first (back up & save) less chance that there will be a conflicting app. This is just a root and hotspot it will not initially make the phone faster. But you are ready to start customizing. Samsung Intercept Review Well you guys Have been asking and here it is! Here's a quick review of the samsung intercept for virgin mobile. Virgin Mobile $35 Monthly Plan With Samsung Intercept Androi I have the $35 a month Virgin Mobile cell phone plan, with the Samsung Intercept Android phone. The plan was originally $25 a month, and that's what I'm paying, but anyone who subscribes for new service has to pay $35 a month. I get 300 minutes of talk, unlimited text, and unlimited internet use. If I go over 300 minutes, additional minutes are 10 cents each. In the video I compare the Samsung Intercept to the iPhone. The phone came with Android 2.1 installed. The Samsung Intercept phone works OK for phoning and texting, but sometimes the contacts function crashes when I am trying to enter a new number. The screen resolution is lower than other phones, so it is hard to read small print, which makes web browsing somewhat frustrating. Apps take a long time to open. The touch screen sensitivity is pretty bad, and I have trouble getting things done because either I tap the thing I didn't mean to tap, or it doesn't sense the tap. Switching between menus is slow. Virgin has another Android phone available on the $25 monthly plan. I don't know if it is better. After upgrading to Android 2.2 it works a lot better. I made a different video after the upgrade. Hard Reset / Recovery Mode - Samsung Intercept For Stock. A hard reset is the most effective thing to help fix certain issues. Sometimes there is an app that is not compatible or an app that doesn't fully uninstall causing issues such as reboots, continual rebooting until battery is pulled. However plans start at $25 a month for unlimited data and 300 minutes to unlimited everything at $60. Design: The phone is 0.6 inches thick which is a little thick however it feels natural in the hand. The plastic on the back feels soft to the touch. The keyboard slides out with ease, even with only one hand. It is 4.4 x 2.2 inches making pretty standard in size for a smart phone. Screen: On the front of the phone is a 3inch 400 by 240 pixel LCD touch display. The resolution is something people complain about but I find it very easy to read, even small letters, and pictures look fine. The touch screen has a nice feel to it and is plenty responsive. Indoors this display handles light fine, but outside it is kind of washed out in sunlight. Keyboard: This keyboard is awesome. It is must for texting or typing anything.
