Numerous tablets and slate were released during CES last week. While most of the tablet were based on ARM and Android, Intel and the Australian Company Evlove III demoed a slate based on dual core Oak Trail Atom platform. The Oak Trail Atom processors are a new family of low powered processors for mobile devices by Intel. The Oak Trail Atom platform is expected to be released on Q2 2011.
The Evolve III MeeGo Slate would be the first MeeGo/Android dual boot and dual core tablet and that it can also boot with Winodws 7. So you have one device with three operating systems out of the box.
Intel Free Press talked Warrick Dainter of Australia's Evolve III during CES 2011. Their Maestro tablet currently runs two operating systems: MeeGo and Windows 7 , but is being developed to also run Google's Android operating system. Powered by a forthcoming Intel Atom processor (Oak Trail), the show the MeeGo operating system, talk about their custom made hard drive, built-in cameras and HDMI-equipped docking station.
