At my request, the board of directors has granted me a medical leave of absence so I can focus on my health. I will continue as CEO and be involved in major strategic decisions for the company.
I have asked Tim Cook to be responsible for all of Apple’s day to day operations. I have great confidence that Tim and the rest of the executive management team will do a terrific job executing the exciting plans we have in place for 2011.

Opera has just announced its intentions to deliver Opera Mini for the iPhone, and will unveil the browser at Mobile World Congress.
Promising to be “fast, easy to use, and packed with favorite Opera features”, the browser will reportedly come with tabs and Speed Dial.
Two new analysts said Tuesday that the iPad-AT&T deal suggests Apple may extend its exclusive iPhone agreement through 2011, leaving the wireless provider as the sole carrier of the handset in the U.S. this year.
